Fun Family Animal Encounters Close To The Farm Cradle Country

Looking for a fun family day out close to your farmstay campsite here at The Farm Cradle Country? Well do we have great news for you! Two animal packed experiences are within a short 45 minute scenic drive. Both options are truly Tasmanian with our very own Tassie Devils as the star of the show.

Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary, was established in 1979 and is a wildlife conservation sanctuary situated near Mole Creek. Nestled amongst 85 acres of native Tasmanian habitat you will find Tassie Devils, Wombats (our personal favourite), Eastern and Spotted Quolls, Bettongs and cute little spikey echidnas.

Included in your admission price is an interactive guided wildlife tour. Having recently done one of these while entertaining visiting family we can truly say that they were an amazing, close up and fun experience. You can even touch a Tassie Devil, albeit it from behind a nice safe distance from those sharp gnashes (ouch!).

The tours at time of publishing this blog are run 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm daily.

You can hand feed the friendly free ranging Kangaroos and wallabies and experience the walk through bird of prey and rescue and rehabilitation facility.

There is cute shop on site, which my brother let loose in ( I mean how many pairs of socks does one kid need?!) and great facilities. You can even pack a picnic for lunch and make a day of it.

Open 9:00am - 5:00pm daily (excluding Christmas Day). Address: 1892 Mole Creek Road, Mole CreekPhone: 03 6363 6162
