We had a fabulous stay at The Farm Cradle Country. Shae and Steve were so lovely and made us feel welcome, giving us free range around the farm to explore and enjoy the good life.
My girls named it the number one spot on our travels and spent most of their time hanging with the ladies (chickens) and Kevin and Bevin (goats).
We also enjoyed the most magical full moon rising over Mt Roland, while sitting around the communal fire pit.
We will definitly stay again in Autunm when we plan a return visit to catch the Fagus on Cradle Mountain.

What a peaceful place. Shae & Steve are amazing hosts and were very welcoming. Their local knowledge is on point, having given us many great suggestions for things to do while in the area. The short drive to Cradle Mountain is picturesque but what surprised us the most is how many spectacular mountains are at the North West of Tasmania and how close the farm was to all of them. Its such a special place without the crowds. Moo Moo & Teenie the cows are adorable as are Kevin & Bevin the goats. The communal fire pit was a great place to sit of an evening and chat about the days exploring.

What a beautiful place to camp up at. Lovely soft green grass to park on (dog loved it). Heaps of room for a heck of a lot of people. Hosts were brilliant. Helped with a little bit of cattle movement (back into the right paddock). Would recommend it to everyone. Close to Cradle Mtn and just 15km out of Sheffield for shopping.

Best nights sleep we’ve had since camping this holiday; was quiet, lovely views of the farm and the owners made us feel more than welcome.
It felt safe and perfectly maintained. Looking forward to going back.

Beautiful spot to camp and very well maintained. Steve the host was really hospitable and showed us all the farm animals, which was cool. Plenty of nice spots to camp on the property with beautiful views. Great spot to camp if you plan on hiking Cradle Mountain!

Shae and Steve were the best hosts for our stay on Christmas Day. They were so friendly and welcoming and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again. The campsite has incredible views and we loved saying hi to the animals in the morning. Can't recommend anymore! Thanks Shae and Steve!

Adam C

Great spot to camp. Steve was a great host always up for yarn and very accommodating. The farm fresh eggs he sold us were some of the best we have had!

Samuel W

Couldn't give Steve + Shae a better wrap. Absolute legends. The campsite was stunning with views that blew us away. Steve gave us a great run down of the farm and we met all the animals. The communal fire place bought laughs and good yarns. Plus a short drive to Cradle Mountain. Highly recommend a stay with Steve + Shae at their lovely farm.

Quiet spot on Steve and Shae's farm with a nice outlook across their paddocks (that were full of cattle at the time). We got a tour of the farm, including meeting the new calves and hand feeding the friendly pet goats Kevin and Bevin. Steve and Shae were extremely nice and I would highly recommend camping on their farm if you're looking to stay in the area.

Lisa S

Great place to get away from the crowds. Large campsites and friendly hosts. Close to Cradle Mtn without the expensive price tag.

Madeline B

Nice flat area. The kids got to pet the farm animals which was really nice! 😊

Kelly W

Beautiful, tranquil campsite in picturesque location. Steve & Shae took a good deal of time to include our children in the feeding of their animals. Something our children will remember. A real highlight and human connection. Lovely, accommodating hosts.

Danielle K

Cannot recommend this highly enough. Steve & Shae went above and beyond as hosts welcoming us, spending time showing us around the farm and allowing us to feed the animals. Communal fire pit, flat level sites, beautiful scenery and 40min drive to Cradle Mountain.

Laura T

Perfectly mown camp ground with large sites. Peaceful with amazing sunsets and beautiful views of the surrounding farmland. genuine friendly hosts.

Meghan P

Great campsite and friendly hosts. Booked to stay 1 night and ended up staying 2. Close to Cradle Mountain & Mole Creek and not too far from Devonport either. Shae and Steve were lovely enough to show us around their farm and introduced us to all their animals. Would highly recommended stopping by!

@AsTheyTravelled

Great proximity to Cradle Mountain if you have a dog, we felt safe to leave ours behind for the day while we explored. Friendly and proud hosts. Heaps of room for bigger rigs! Stunning sunsets over the fields.

Brad B

Amazing spot. Felt secluded from everything. Steve introduced himself and made us feel extremely welcome. The pet billy goats “Kevin and Bevin” were the highlight for us. Wish we had more time to stay here, highly recommend!!

Anthony L

Greeted on arrival by Steve, clean and well maintained grass site - great location

John C

Great spot very neat and tidy also very quiet.

Larissa M

Beautiful spot in the mountains- Steve was incredible friendly offering for us to feed the calves and walk around the property.

Charly D

The best camp we’ve ever stayed at! Steve and Shae were so great and absolutely went above and beyond for us! Our son loved collecting the chook eggs and patting the calves during feeding time. Steve even helped us out with an issue with our jockey wheel by welding it. So much space and so quiet :)
11/10 and will definitely be coming back when we’re in Tassie next!!

We had such a wonderful time at The Farm. Such a beautiful location, sunset views and colours beyond incredible.
Farmer Steve was so wonderful with our child, showing him around and letting him help feed the animals and collect the eggs.
The kind of place were the serenity just captures you, and you don’t want to leave.

We would love to come back and stay again.

@TravelingGypsy

Easy access & big sites. Close to Cradle Mountain & Mole Creek without the crowds,  although I would imagine it would be a popular spot during peak times. Peaceful campsites surrounded by farmland. Will definitely be back.

Terrie A

Easy to find, calm peaceful surrounds and the hosts were accommodating and friendly.
Steve took time out to check-in on campers and we saw him taking families with young children to feed the animals..

Our first Farm Stay and it was so much more than we expected. Great flat ground, plenty of green grass and open space. Shae and Steve are the perfect welcoming hosts, with their caring natures and warm hearts. Shae gave us lots of helpful travel information and Steve had a friendly chat every day. We enjoyed being introduced to the calves, goats and chickens and even getting to feed them. We highly recommend this as a great place to stay. Thank you so much Shae and Steve. Hopefully we will have time to come back! Maureen and Mark

What a stunning location stayed 5 nights. A short drive to Cradle Mountain and Mount Roland. Steve and Shae were wonderful hosts always got time for a chat. Steve took time to show us the farm and animals. We will be back.

We’ve been travelling around Tasmania for the past 6 weeks, and this was our favourite campsites of the whole trip. It was a great place to base ourselves to explore the North West and Cradle Mountain. The hosts, Steve and Shae, were so friendly, kind and helpful. The kids loved feeding the cows, goats and chickens, eating the fresh eggs and veggies and blackberry picking around the farm. The campsite itself is very flat and the size of each site is very generous. The scenery is beautiful and the place is so peaceful. We had the best time and would highly recommend this as a place to stay.

John C

Once again this is a beautiful, nice and quiet rural location terrific hosts thanks Steve for your knowledge of the area.

Paul R

We loved The Farm Cradle Country. By far our favourite camp site in Tasmania. Beautiful land with some of the best views. Steve and Shae are the best, nicest and most generous people. They made us and our kids feel at home in their amazing farm. They made us feel like we found life long friends. We didn’t want to leave. Kids also loved feeding the livestock. Highly recommended.
