Did Someone Say Penguins ?! Lillico Beach Coastal Reserve Penguin Viewing Season

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and not just because Christmas is around the corner and the summer weather seems to have arrived.

What makes this time of year even more special is its penguin watching season!!

The Lillico Beach coastal reserve and penguin colony is a pebbly coastal strip not too far from Devonport and is home to a colony of Little Penguins, also known as Fairy Penguins.

The Lillico beach coastal reserve is a short 40minute drive from The Farm Cradle Country.

You can view the Penguins through the Summer months.

There are a great team of volunteers from the Friends of Lillico Penguins, on the platform each night during the season to guide and educate you on these cute little animals.

It’s important to note that all the guides have appropriate red light torches on hand (for the penguins safety and that no visitor torches or camera flashes are to be used).

This experience is free however donations are gratefully appreciated. To find out more about this amazing experience jump onto the - Little Penguins Lillico Tasmania Facebook page for updated information.

Enjoy!!
