AND before we knew it …… It was DECEMBER!!! Happy festive season everyone!!
For most of you are likely planning some family, couple, friend away time for the holidays and should you find yourself here in the magical Cradle Country of Tasmania there is plenty on the calendar for you to get out and about, see and do.
The Kentish Lions Christmas Parade - Main Street Sheffield - 13th December 2024 @ 6:00pm.
Bringing colour and cheer to the streets of Sheffield every year is the Kentish Lions Christmas Parade. The parade runs along Main Street, Sheffield and is followed by a free BBQ and fairy floss!
Local clubs, organisations and associations creatively decorate their floats each year with colour and flair.
This year the Apple Isle Carriage Driving Club, The Hub, Kentish Scouts and Kentish U3A are among some of the floats registered to attend amongst many more.

Chasing The Light - Sheffield Art Gallery - 6 Pioneer Crescent Sheffield - December - January 10:00am - 3:00pm daily.
Visit the Sheffield Working Art Space to see works from Tasmania Artist, Evelyn Antonysen. This exhibition show works in several media using various techniques to portray the wonderfully varied Tasmanian atmosphere and landscape.
There are many other things to do at the Sheffield working art space including -

Northwest Coast’s signature New Year’s Eve event is back, offering a spectacular way to say goodbye to 2024 and welcome in 2025!
This exciting event provides a variety of entertainment for all ages, including:
• Family-friendly activities like live performances, carnival rides from the Devonport Family Fun Fair, face painting, laser tag, a silent disco, Henna Gipsy, VR games and more.
• A wide range of food and beverage vendors to keep everyone satisfied throughout the evening.
• Bring the bling with your sparkliest outfit and win great prizes in the Glam Slam fashion parade.
• The highlight of the night: Two stunning fireworks displays at 9:30 pm and midnight, featuring breathtaking pyrotechnics fired from the Spirit of the Sea, lighting up the sky and providing a memorable experience for all ages. Thanks to SeaRoad.
Gates open at 6:00 pm with free entry.
Set against the scenic backdrop of Aikenhead Point, along Victoria Parade/Bluff Road, directly across from the Bass Strait Maritime Centre, this event is sure to be the liveliest New Year’s Eve celebration on the coast!
