3 Family Fun Things To Do Near The Farm Cradle Country
The North West of Tasmania is an incredibly beautiful, natural and adventurous part of the State. There are loads of walks, Mountain Bike Trails and abundant wildlife and scenery.
Although there are many things to see and do in our part of the world for you and your family, we have put together three of the most popular for our region for families of all ages.
Tasmazia …
When it comes to North West Tasmanian tourist destinations, you won’t find anywhere more fascinating and magical than Tasmazia and the Village of Lower Crackpot!
There is a total of eight magical mazes for you and the family to lose yourself in, each completely different from the last!
The Great Maze is one of the world’s largest mazes.
The Hampton Court Maze is an exact replica of the famous original in London.
The Balance Maze will seriously test your agility!
The Yellow Brick Road Maze is a favourite and loved by kids of all ages!
The Hexagonal, Cage, Confusion and Irish mazes will delight and challenge you. Will you conquer the maze?
After you’ve tired yourself out from all of the maze fun check out The Village of Lower Crackpot, a quirky model village built to 1/5 scale or Embassy Gardens, with buildings dedicated to over 40 countries, as well as a few imaginary ones!
There is a cafe serving delicious pancakes too …. Yum!
Pump Track…
In the town of Railton not too far from the farm you will find Goliath Park home to the Railton Pump Track.
The track can be used by bikes, scooters, skateboards, in-line skates and is suitable for all ages and skills levels.
The track is 800 m2 and has mirrored tracks perfect for some healthy family racing….. maybe the loser could spend their pocket money on the marshmallows for the nights camp fire.
The facility also includes toilets, showers, and bike wash!
The Enchanted Walk Cradle Mountain…
This family friendly 1.1km short walk is like something right out of a fairytale.
This delightful short walk provides a taste of Cradle Mountain and is suitable for all ages. It starts near the bridge crossing Pencil Pine Creek and meanders through magical, mossy forest, along a cascading creek. Keep an eye out for colourful fungi, especially during the coldest months.
Along the way there are educational tunnels for the kids to walk through and learn about the animals, flora and fauna.
There are simply too many family friendly things to do and see in our amazing part of the world to list in one blog! So be sure to check in with the Sheffield Information Centre for more amazing things to see and do around North West Tasmania.
