1. King Billy Pine Walk - Cradle Mountain

The King Billy Pine is famous for growing at Cradle Mountain and this short walk of approximately 1 hour return, is the place to go and witness these majestic natural giants.

Beginning your walk near the Cradle Mountain Lodge, you slowly climb through old growth forest, up purposely built stairs, winding your way through the mossy forest until you reach a signpost directing you to an up and close encounter with one of these huge magical pines.

At this point you can either choose to return on the path you came in on or continue on an adjoining walk back to the car park through forests where wombats roam and are often seen.

Stroll through old-growth forest and along the edge of a beautiful cascading river on this easy and enjoyable 1.2km walk. There are beautiful small seasonal waterfalls and with a little patience you and your family may even spot a platypus swimming or a wombat wandering the forest.

There are cute and educational tunnels along the trail for the kids and many beautiful spots for the perfect family holiday snap.
